Pajama Pillows!

What to do with pajamas that the kids have outgrown? MAKE A PILLOW! We sewed up the arm holes and neck hole and stuffed it!

We did this with Daniel's old shirt, but I can't find the photo...the kids LOVE these pillows that they stitched and stuffed themselves.

Rice Heat Packs

Our friends were rear-ended yesterday so we decided to make them some bed buddy rice packs for their sore, achy muscles. We went to Joann and picked out fabric for everyone (4 children and 2 parents) and came home and sewed really fast so we could deliver them this afternoon. What a fun project (with unhappy circumstances)!

Sarah's Janome Sew Mini Sewing Machine

My 8 year old daughter has been asking for her own sewing machine so we got the Janome Mini Sew for her. It has great reviews and though it is a mini, it is a REAL sewing machine. And under 5lbs we can move it easily. She is a total NATURAL with the sewing machine, I was astonished at how adept and confident she was using it the first time! It is AWESOME having a sewing machine that actually works!

First Post-New Sewing Machine

Last fall I purchased my second old Singer and this November my daughter started asking to sew. I was showing her how to thread the machine when the entire bobbin casing popped out and I could NOT get it back in!

DONE, I am DONE with old machines. I decided to do a little research on getting her a small machine that is really simple (so mom can understand it)! We ordered a Janome Mini Sew from Ken's Sewing Center on Amazon for $69 (free shipping, no tax). One thing that helped me make this decision was this nice lady's YouTube video! It arrived in perfect condition with a 10% coupon.

Sarah was super excited to try out all six stitches and Daniel did quite well stitching straight lines!

That's what started this blog!
